Composed as a quartet of stories, the first tale is a pastoral idyll about the magical and moonstruck existence of a young widow and her son. A pair of embroidered shoes sends the mother into a flight of fancy and delirium; but years later, a trip to her island hideaway reveals something of her past... The second story is set in a college campus at the dawn of the Cultural Revolution. It focuses on the desires and illicit ménage à trois between two Indonesian Chinese returnees and a voluptuous female doctor. In the next episode, the protagonist of the previous story is sent down to the village where the mad widow and her now grown-up son lives. Then a tale about male egos and female bellies, and how caressing velvet can save or ruin lives. The last story journeys back in time to the windswept Gobi Desert, home of nomadic Uyghurs.The film’s main protagonists converge in a single unified time and place. Poised at crucial junctures in life – marriage, death, and birth, their predestined connections are finally unravelled.

"陽光燦爛的日子"是在電影節睇的,夏雨就是憑此片拿了國際影展(?)男主角奬,而我也因為這部電影而認識了寧靜。
"鬼子來了"沒有看呀!

華裔女星又在荷里活打出名堂的,我鍾意陳沖,鄔君梅(Vivian Wu),鞏俐。現在的陳沖,仍然好看,仍然有味道。

只看過鄔君梅在"宋家皇朝"的演出,印像不深。
特別喜歡"大紅燈籠高高掛"的鞏俐。
鄔君梅演過Last Emperor(Bertolucci), 演出走的文琇(走在雨中大叫"I'm free!"), 當時佢好green, 我的視綫都落在陳沖身上。
後來演Peter Greenaway的Pillow Book (改編自清少納言的"枕草子"), 拍Ewan McGregor, 形象變成熟冷艷了,修長身段很好看。
在8 1/2 Women (Greenaway)與台灣的伊能靜,成為眾女人中的亞洲代表。
宋家王朝反而沒有看。雖然有姜文(?)。
現在的鞏俐正處於演員巔峰狀態,華人世界之中,沒有女演員超越得了她。她亦令我明白,語言障礙對一級演員來說不是問題。
年輕演員中,我喜歡寧靜,周迅。徐靜蕾,氣質不錯,但在"傷城"演出平平。

講講下我又好似睇過Last Emperor(係咪"阪"本龍一做配樂?)
雖然無點睇過周迅的電影,但我也很喜歡他。

阪本龍一都算是Bertolucci愛用的電影配樂師。除了Last Emperor,他也替The Little Buddha做音樂。
原來他也是High Heels(Almodovar)的配樂人~
周迅,自"蘇州河"開始留意她。<--VCD擱了幾年都未睇
小裁縫(劉燁合演)也沒有看。
無論是陳果"香港有個荷里活"中的北姑,"如果.愛"的孤獨女星,或是"夜宴"的無垢少女,周迅都演出味道來。
不過,她演的新版黃蓉,我就沒有太大興趣看了!
